Ich aß von meinem Salat, und merkte garnicht das Alaska reinkam. Als sie sich aber schliesslich zu mir setzte, lächelte sie an und sagte. "Hay Alaska." und lachte leicht, als sie fragte ob der Name 'Lisa' richtig wäre, und nickte ihr zu.

"Gut.", murmelte ich als sie zustimmte, dass Lisa ihr Name sei. "Und, Lisa, wie geht es dir?" Ich biss mir auf die Unterlippe und sah sie fragend an.

Als sie mich fragte wie es mir geht, antwortete ich darauf. "Mir geht es soweit eigentlich recht gut, und dir so?" fragte ich sie im gleichen Moment.

"Mein ganzes Zimmer wurde Unterwasser gestellt!", platzte es aus mir raus. Ich hatte nur darauf gewartet, es irgendjemandem zu erzählen. "Jemand hat die Wasserleitung gelöchert und jetzt steht mein Zimmer unter Wasser! All meine Bücher, ruiniert!" Ich biss mir wütend auf die Unterlippe.

Ich hörte ihr zu, und antwortete darauf. "Das ist mies" sagte ich mitfühlend.

"Ich werd es denen heimzahlen." Mein Kiefer verhärtete sich, aber dann wurde ich wieder Recht entspannt. "Ich sollte mich ablenken, bevor ich noch jemandem den Apfel gegen die Birne schmeiße." Ich verzog das Gesicht und legte den Apfel auf den Tisch. "Woher kommst du, Lisa?" Ich strich mir eine Haarsträhne nach hinten und sah sie neugierig an.

Ich sah sie an. "Wen wirst du es heimzahlen?" fragte ich sie, ich hatte es immernoch nicht so ganz verstanden wer ihr Zimmer unter Wasser gesetzt hat. "Woher ich komme? Ich komme aus Deutschland." sagte ich. "Und du?"

"Unwichtig." Ich schnalzte mit der Zunge und antwortete auf ihre Frage, woher ich kam. "Ich komme aus Illinois. Meine Mutter kam daher.", murmelte ich und schaute ins Leere. Dann stüzte ich meinen Kopf auf meine Hand und sah an, ohne etwas zu sagen.

She looked at me and smiled widely, and such a wide smile on her narrow face might have looked goofy were it not for the unimpeachably elegant green in her eyes. She smile with all the delight of a kid on Christmas morning and said, "Ya'll smoke to enjoy it. I smoke to die."

Ich kam hinein gestürmt und lachte dabei heiser. Ich rannte zum Tisch eines Mädchens, welches gedankenverloren aus dem Fenster schaute. "Kann ich mich hier verstecken?", fragte ich leicht außer Atem und wartete gar nicht erst auf ihre Antwort. Ich setze mich auf den Boden zwischen Tisch und Fenster, sodass der Tisch mich grob bedeckte. Ich grinste zu dem Mädchen hoch. "Ich bin übrigens Alaska." Ich umklammerte meine Knie und schaute vorsichtig auf die Cafeteriatür.
